1. Place decals and bird silhouettes on the outside of the windows -- no more than 10” apart. The special “ultraviolet decals" that we offer allow the birds to see a brilliant blue glow. 2. Hang obstacles on the outside of the window such as ribbon, strings of feathers or other material in strips no more than 6 inches apart. 3. Reduce the mirror-effect in existing buildings by placing light colored material (white drapes or blinds) behind the glass to reduce open sky reflections. 4. Locating feeders close to the house prevents birds from striking windows at a high rate of cruising speed as well as providing you with better viewing of feeding birds. Feeders should be placed within 3-feet of windows or directly on the window glass. Use window brackets and hanging poles to ensure your feeders are within this 3-foot safety zone. 5. Cover windows with netting, preferably soccer net grade. Leave space between glass and netting as it will act as a trampoline if birds should hit it.
